Itinerary

Sunday 17 October: Palermo
Your Sicilian journey begins in Palermo, a city where Arab domes, Norman chapels and Baroque façades share the same skyline. After a private transfer and a quiet settling-in at Palazzo Liberty, the evening opens with a welcome dinner at Cortile Pantelleria. It is a graceful introduction to island cooking, where the generosity of the table sets the tone for everything to come.

Monday 18 October: Palermo
Palermo’s layered history comes to life on a guided tour of its Norman and Arab heritage, ending among the color and clamor of a local market. Lunch is a Palermo rite of passage: street food at Friggitoria Sicula, humble in origin and deeply satisfying. The evening is yours, free to choose a table of your own in a city rich with many options.

Tuesday 19 October: Palermo
Begin the day with craftsmanship at the Tre Erre ceramic workshop, where Sicily’s tradition of hand-painted tableware is kept alive. Take the afternoon at your own pace before dinner at Locale, a refined address for savoring contemporary Sicilian cooking.

Wednesday 20 October: Palermo to Calascibetta to Siracusa
Leave the coast behind for the quiet interior of the island and a tasting lunch at Caseari Di Venti, a cheese producer in Calascibetta. Here you can taste the pastoral side of Sicily, where milk, season and patience shape what reaches the plate. By late afternoon you arrive in Siracusa and settle into the Caportigia Boutique Hotel, with the evening left open to explore.

Thursday 21 October: Siracusa
A private guided tour unveils Siracusa, once among the great cities of the ancient Mediterranean, where Greek and Roman antiquity meets honey-colored Baroque. Lunch at Aglae Storie di Sapori, whose name promises “stories of flavors”, is an unhurried midday pleasure. The afternoon and evening are yours to wander and dine as you wish.

Friday 22 October: Siracusa to Modica, Frigintini and Niscemi
This is a day for the sweet-toothed connoisseur. At Antica Dolceria Bonajuto in Modica, one of Sicily’s oldest chocolate houses, you will taste the island’s celebrated chocolate, made in a slow tradition that gives it a distinctive texture. Lunch at Le Magnolie in Frigintini follows with a chocolate-inspired menu, before you arrive at the Feudi del Pisciotto Wine Relais. A visit to the estate’s winery precedes a tasting dinner, an evening of fine wines in a vineyard setting.

Saturday 23 October: Niscemi to Castelvetrano to Trapani
In Castelvetrano, Panificio Rizzo introduces you to pane nero, the dark loaf recognized as a Slow Food Presidium. It is tasted at a lunch that celebrates bread as an expression of place. You then continue to Trapani and the Palazzo Gatto Art Hotel & Spa, where dinner at Osteria Il Moro rounds off the day with local flavors.

Sunday 24 October: Trapani and Marsala
A guided visit to the salt flats and museum of Marsala reveals one of Sicily’s oldest harvests, taken from shallow pans beside the sea. From there you move to Baglio Donna Franca, home of Vini Ansaldi, for a visit and tasting lunch that pairs the setting with the wines of the region. The afternoon and evening are free in Trapani.

Monday 25 October: Trapani and Erice
Ascend to Erice, a medieval hilltop village of stone lanes and sweeping views, for a leisurely morning and a lunch of your choosing. Returning to Trapani, you step into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class guided by a professional chef and his team. The evening ends where all good cooking does, at the table, enjoying the dishes you prepared yourselves.

Tuesday 26 October: Trapani, Paceco and Palermo
Your final full day begins at Porti Calazzo – Antico Baglio in Paceco, an extra-virgin olive oil producer, where a visit and tasting lunch celebrates what Sicilian groves yield. You then return to Palermo and Palazzo Liberty. A farewell group dinner at Enosteria Sicula brings the journey full circle, with a last toast to the island.

Wednesday 27 October: Palermo
After a final breakfast at Palazzo Liberty, a private transfer takes you to Palermo Airport, leaving you with the flavors, wines and landscapes of Sicily.
